I can respect the quality of writing, and the fact that the author has created a character I genuinely despise and makes my skin crawl. Great writing. Would I read it again? No. Would I recommend it? No. The only reasons why I carried on was
A. Everyone kept saying it's one of those books you have to read
B. Jeremy Irons does a brilliant job of bringing the book to life.

I can read horror, thriller and other crime genre without batting an eye. This is my hard stop.
