Black Panther (2018-) #1 by Daniel Acuña, Ta-Nehisi Coates

3.0

3.5 stars. An intriguing start to this run of Black Panther. A nameless man is imprisoned on the mining colony in a far-off galaxy, run by the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda (formed from a group of Wakandans who left Earth "two thousand years ago").
SpoilerHe fights for his escape and is aided by The Maroons, including two named Nakia and M'Baku. The captain N'Yami gives this nameless man (who has no memories of his past save for a woman he promised to return to) the name T'Challa, in honor of his strength and courage. It remains to be seen whether this, in fact, the T'Challa, as well as Earth's Nakia and M'Baku.

I like the art style, which relies mostly on a cool color scheme of black, blue, purple, and pink. I got the Artgerm variant cover, which is gorgeous! I don't think I'll keep up with the individual issues on this series however-- I'll wait for the combined editions.
