I sought after this book simply by reputation, not knowing anything about it.  I'm so glad that this is the first in the trilogy because I fell deeply in love with the characters.  There's plenty of magick, and a mystery and a gay romance, all packed into just over 300 pages.  It's so very good and worth checking out, whoever you are because it's so accessible and readable, you'll be immersed before you know it.  Highly recommended.
