LEVAR BURTON...READS... THE BIO... OF MR. ROGERS! My inner child's soul could barely take the warm, fuzzy blanket of nostalgia. I do get little hits of nostalgia here and there when I listen to the LeVar Burton Reads podcast, but then they go combining my two favorite personalities from my childhood?! If I didn't have to function as an adult, I would have much preferred to listen to the 14 hrs and 7 mins straight through in my pjs and snuggled in bed with some tea, but...life, work, and bills, you know.
A great, in-depth profile of one of my favorite people from my childhood. I appreciated how the author took the time to research and include the background of the people who helped Fred Rogers throughout his life to become FRED ROGERS. LeVar does a good job of adjusting his voice to reflect the change in perspective, from the author to another person's commentary. It sounds like LeVar listened to a recording of that person and tried to do his best to "imitate" that person's manner of speaking.

* I got to listen to about 13 hours of this audiobook before my Hoopla (audiobook) app started acting up and wouldn't let me continue- it has the propensity to do this almost every time I'm close to the end of a book (argh!)- but the timeline had made it beyond Fred's funeral & into some of his legacy, so I don't feel too terribly cheated as far as content.
