Stuck With My Christmas Crush by Francesca Spencer

3.0

Jason inherited a dilapidated mansion. He is an engineer but can't wait to escape this money pit. Soon, he must buy first and get through the holidays. He is a great uncle. Jason was previously in the military and acted like it, too, always being the hero.

Charlie is a damsel and a hot mess. She is stuck on the side of the road in her broken-down car, dressed in her work outfit of a fairy with wings and glitter. Of course, she has probably watched way too many suspense TV shows. But so far, her perspective is just a slight reminder of the previous chapter in another form.

Somehow, she ends up with Mr. Grumpy, but their predicament—a major storm, only one bed, and forced proximity—is a recipe for something.

This book is a short read, so far a full length, but it is moving right along. Jason is awkward and grumpy and doesn't know what he truly wants. Charlie wants Jason, but we don't know much about her either.  The story gets sappy, and the grumpy man turns into a monologue. The characters aren't very consistent.

They do just kiss, but there is no heat or description behind it, so it's basically a clean holiday hallmark romance. The ending is sweet and a little less sappy, but the best part of the story was the blurb.
