A genderless, sexless, media obsessed robot who fears eye contact more than death? Finally. A main character I can relate to.

I have very little to say about this one to be honest. The action was fun and fast-paced, the world-building was interesting and easily digestible, and of course, the main character, dearest Murderbot, was marvelous.

As an autistic person, I dislike when autistic people are compared to robots. But also as an autistic person, it was almost impossible for me not to notice the parallels.
Murderbot hating eye contact and struggling with facial expressions, not understanding 'basic' etiquette, their love of serials and often using the serials to understand the world around them.

Getting to read a story in which a character with these traits is readily accepted and welcomed by those around them just gave me so many warm, fuzzy feelings.

My only real complaint is that I wish I got to know the crew a little better. Though, with the word count and the size of the crew, I suppose it's understandable. Hopefully they make another appearance in one of the many other Murderbot installments. Which I will absolutely be reading.

Murder, schmurder. In my eyes, Murderbot can do no wrong.
