This book was truly touching. I really enjoyed the concept of meeting loved ones who have passed away in a Buddhist-informed setting. Logically, it made more sense to me than the premise in Before the Coffee Gets Cold. However, the relationships between the characters felt a little too neatly connected, as if every thread was tied up too perfect. Still, I loved the atmospheric setting, the beach and the restaurant's cat, so the book had a warm and memorable charm.
