As a queer reader, I often find myself wading through coming-of-age stories. "The Fiancée Farce" offered a welcome change. The protagonist's queer identity is simply a facet of who they are, not the entire narrative focus. This refreshing normalcy allowed the story to explore other themes in a rich and engaging way. While the pacing could drag at times, the overall charm and originality of the book won me over.
