Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time by Dava Sobel

2.0

This is an interesting topic, so I would recommend getting a better book on it. The book reads like the first draft of a dozen loosely related blog posts on the Longitude problem - flush with vagaries, embellishments, exaggerations and flights of imagination. Chronology jumps around so badly that it's hard to keep track of events and historical persons of interest, even within the narrow scope of the book.
