At the Coffee Shop of Curiosities
by Heather Webber
This was a sweet book that I think many people would enjoy. It was too sweet for my taste, and I should know better than to pick up any book with magical realism, it just is not my thing. The description of the Alabama coastal setting was excellent -- it made me want to go on vacation to visit the ocean. The descriptions were so good that I momentarily forgot that I hate hot and humid weather and also would not want to give the state of Alabama any of my tourism dollars right now. But this was a nice hopeful book where everyone finds their person, discovers their true passion in life, and effortlessly becomes part of a loving and welcoming community of quirky and charming townsfolk.
