The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers

2.0

I’m in the minority on this one: but I thought it was less than good. Just a confusing jumble of body-swapping and moronic time travel with a handful of senseless magic thrown in to try and tie it all together. Every section almost seemed unrelated to the next section and so many characters just moved around, disappeared, then reappeared; it was frankly tiresome. The gag went stale in the first 100 pages. Then it was repetitive tedium and characters I’d lost interest in. I’m hoping this is a one off occurrence because several of Powers other books sound interesting.
