The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon

5.0

“If this is the only way I can have him, then I have to be okay with it.”

Shay Goldstein really can’t stand Dominic Yun. He’s been a smart-ass since he started at the radio station. She can’t stand that he mentions his masters degree every second, and she can’t stand the way her boss, Kent, listens to him more than he listens to her when she’s been there for 10 years. To add to Shay’s stress, the station is struggling and may be shut down. So when Shay jokingly suggests a dating radio show hosted by exes, she’s shocked when Kent agrees. While it takes some convincing, she eventually gets Dominic to agree. And that’s when the trouble starts.

Shay doesn’t want to start liking Dominic, but she can’t help but start to fall for him. As their radio show gains more listeners, Shay and Dominic struggle with their lie. While they want to make their relationship real, they need to continue living the lie so their show will succeed. Can they even make a relationship work?

I fucking LOVED this book. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me squeal with joy, and it made me throw the book in frustration. Literally, the entirety of the emotions I can feel, it made me feel. I love that the romantic interest was a younger, Asian man. I also loved the family aspect of this novel. Honestly, The Ex Talk reminds me how amazing the Romance genre is. It covers familial relations, friendships, and (obviously) romance. I absolutely can’t wait to read more novels by [a:Rachel Lynn Solomon|15298200|Rachel Lynn Solomon|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1530989204p2/15298200.jpg]!
