What a freaking awesome conclusion to a bloody great series! I'm so sad this wild ride is over...

This is a series review and overall, this was a solid 5 stars!

My thoughts while reading: WTF WTF WTFFFF
My thoughts after reading: Holy freaking wow. This series was WILD in the best way and I freaking LOVED IT!!!

Finishing this series as quickly as I did gave me a bit of a book hangover and I was pretty sad when it ended. This was nothing at all like I expected, especially with these book covers. Yah, I admit to being a cover-judger and all I expected with these cringe covers was smut as plot, some stabby action and um, that's it? I've never been happier to be proven wrong! These covers really don't do this series any justice (and it makes me a little sad but okay moving on).

This is gonna be a quick series review cos I don't want to give too much away. It's best to go into this series with as little knowledge as possible and just hang on for the ride. It's gripping and intense, it's jaw-dropping and heart-pounding, it's emotional and steamy, you might have to suspend your disbelief at times, but damn if it isn't pure entertainment. This was in part like reading a series of Criminal Minds episodes combined with a twisted romance between an unlikely pairing. I would highly recommend checking out the content/trigger because there are many. Much of the revenge plot of the story isn't easy to stomach and S.T. Abby doesn't shy away from the more graphic scenarios. Also, though this is about one serial killer specifically, we do meet other serial killers and so it goes without saying, that much blood and violence is involved!

That said, I was hooked right from the start. The books are all novella length (the longest being just over 150 pages) so it was easy to devour these from start to finish. And devour them I did—I stayed up until 5am reading four of the books and had to force myself to sleep for a few hours before waking up and immediately picking the series right back up. The plot was full of action and many delightful twists, some of which were easy to predict and others that were a bit surprising. Despite that, it was fun to see how the twists unfolded and the author did a fantastic job in bringing the story together. The characters, including the supporting cast, were compelling, well-developed and had unique voices and traits that set them apart. It feels kind of weird to say cos she's a serial killer and all that but I loved Lana! She's bloody amazing and I was so invested in her journey! I was thrilled by her cold-blooded ruthlessness but I also never wanted her to get lost over that razor's edge that she treads. I loved the way her relationship with Logan developed and I loved how his genuine love and care for her kept her grounded. Logan was a great character too and his arc was so well done too!

I'm seriously glad that I ignored the cover and decided to pick this book up because it was *chefs kiss*. If you like your romance dark and if you can handle the content, then I would 1000% recommend checking this out for a fast-paced, action-packed, heart-pounding read that will keep you reading well through the night! I can't wait to check out the other books this author has under her different writing names.
