Oxygen by Carol Cassella
4.0

A first novel by an anesthesiologist. With a title like Oxygen, if you guess you're going to learn a lot about anesthesia, you're right! It was an enjoyable read and I feel enriched by knowing more about this specialty of medicine (just the right amount of detail) and also some of the political maneuvering that goes on when there is a malpractice suit. I found it fascinating for the first half (read in one night). The rest of the book moved a little slower and I found the family of the protagonist a little formulaic, but overall it was an enjoyable read. Definitely a good, solid first novel.
