I'd say this is an essential and pretty good start for anyone getting into Jane Austen. Sassy but actually funny language combined with the quite emotional center characters who go through significant change (this is how you actually redeem a dislikable male lead) made this very enjoyable read. Ending made me wish for bit more closure but that's just me, the ending came when there was no more story to tell and that's fine.
Half a star deduction for the ending and the slow start when I read this I was rather bored because of it but later when the famous scene between Darcy and Lizzie happened I was always on the edge of my seat.
Even though this book has romance in it it's first and foremost commentary on 1810 England's class society and wealth where romance and marriage are just a stage for it.
