It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

You know how you know a book is just that good? When you read it from cover to cover in one sitting. To say that I devoured this book is an understatement.

I went into this book completely blind, like I do most of my books. I also saw the hype around it but didn't want to know any of the details surrounding it until I was ready to read.

Lily is such a great character. You fall in love with her from the beginning and you only want the best for her. Her relationship with Ryle is so turbulent. He makes you love him at first, but then turns around and makes you hate him. I guess that's how domestic abuse must start and continue to go on.

Relationships like the one they shared is so common and most of the time, we, as outsiders, don't even know it's happening. Domestic violence is such a hard topic to talk about and I feel like it should be talked about more so we can all be aware of our surroundings and learn how to recognize the signs.

The number of times I cried during this book is not worth counting. I also loved the side characters. Alyssa and Marshall were so good to Lily, and I love that she found a good friend in Alyssa, despite her being Ryles sister. I feel like Alyssa and Marshall deserve their own book so we can know their story.

Atlas. Oh, my Atlas. My heart broke so much for him all throughout this story. No teenager should have to go through what he went through. I love him so much.

I highly recommend this book to whoever asks me what book to start with Colleen Hoover. She pulls at your heart strings in a way that has never been done before and I love her for it. Thank you, Colleen, for putting this story out into the world.
