I made the mistake of reading the reviews before I picked this up. I recommend going into this knowing this is an emotional and exceptionally well written sports romance, and nothing more. Really, I applaud the writing when compared to most other sports romance. So refreshing when the characters' behavior or reactions don't make me cringe.

Like I said, I knew going in that this was going to be a tear jerker.

And that one of the main characters was going to die. It soon became apparent which one, and I kept getting emotional about the weirdest things, throughout, knowing where things were headed. In the end, I full on cried for the last couple of chapters.

In the beginning the book was a little unexpectedly smutty, but that's basically just a part of laying down the groundwork. This book is mostly about love. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Not gonna lie, I'm still crying.
