A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore

3.0

There were plenty of laughs and some eye-rolling. At times the jokes/humor were at the expense of stereotypes and personally, it left me feeling uncomfortable. An example are the references to one of the Chinese elderly neighbors and disappearing animals making their way into her kitchen pot. Other times, the humor I think would best be appreciated by 13yo boys or among guys.

Half way through the book, the story started to drag and soon I lost interest. I set the book aside for several days before returning to it again. It didn't make a difference. The jokes were just as lame and the snail pace of the storytelling sapped the joy out of me. But wanting to find out how things would end, I plowed through it.
