Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari

5.0

A comprehensive list of topics not covered in this book:
1. A review of mating dances of peacock spiders.

That’s it. Everything else is covered. Death, taxes, sex, child-rearing, nutrition, mental health and so much more.
Obviously, with such an ambitious book, a lot is myopic or borderline offensive. But I think the point is to see the arc of our species and how we rate our success/failure.
It’s dense so it took me a while to even pull it off the shelf and a bit to chew through it all. Glad I did! I think I’d enjoy a re-reading or at least a second go at several of the chapters.
