This is Agatha’s first book and it shows. It’s definitely a fun story but not the best i’ve read, it didn’t made me as excited as i normally am to read the final, and all the misinformation that Poirot gives during this story just made me confused.
Talking about better things, Poirot, Hastings and Inspector Jaap first appearances and we love that. Although Poirot still doesn’t trust Hastings very much so he doesn’t share as much information as normally. I just feel like, in the other books, they are more comfortable with each other and that’s what we love in their relationship.
It’s a cute book to read after reading A LOT of what Agatha wrote, but i don’t think it’s a good book to start. It was a good story, but underwhelming.
