This was amazing. Morrison's wizardry shows comes ringing through in every element of this story. Unlike Beloved, this doesn't feel like you need to study it to follow along. There were a couple of confusing pieces of chronology, simply because the book takes place over such a long period of time, but that probably says more about me than it does about the book. There were elements of this that felt almost like Pynchon, but then, he doesn't own that kind of weirdness, and it is all very distinct unto itself. I recommend this to anyone who really, really likes stories.
