It Happened One Autumn by Lisa Kleypas

5.0

Oh how I adored this story!

When I read the title's predecessor, Secrets of a Summer Night, I left it feeling not so hot about the romance, but absolutely in love with the friendship of the Wallflowers. In particular, I wanted to instantly know more about Wallflower Lillian.

She was such an engaging, fun, and delightfully blustering character in Summer Night, and she is all that and more as she takes center stage and looks to secure a match in her own love story in It Happened One Autumn.

Who doesn't love a good enemies-to-lovers story?

Lisa Kleypas absolutely delivered here with Lillian and Marcus' romance. Their connection is undeniable, their chemistry electric, and their growing feelings into love a swoon-worthy tale. I simply could not put this story down, and when it was over I was sad. Not as it's ending (that was perfect), but at having to leave these characters I so deeply loved.

They are perfect. This story is perfect.

Luckily, I won't have to leave them for too long-- as we'll see these characters again in the next Wallflower story, and I have a very good feeling about that one!
