Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty by Patrick Radden Keefe

challenging dark informative

5.0

Patrick Radden Keefe at his absolute finest. This was an 18 hour audiobook and I finished it in under 2 weeks. The fact that he managed to work a couple motifs (like the ghost marks) into narrative nonfiction is just the coolest. Keefe's writing style is so intensely readable.

I didn't realise before starting that he did the audiobook narration, and boy does he have the cadence for it. The slightly sarcastic/amused tone when he discusses Joss Sackler just sent me. Do I have a crush on PRK?
