the writing style wasn’t great, especially with the way certain things were worded. i understand that it’s supposed to show a lot oh homophobia but the number of times the f slur was used (a lot of the times when it didn’t actually have any impact or further the story) was just frustrating. a lot of the conflict was just due to communication problems that could’ve been solved if someone used just a single braincell. the homophobic father was just not it, in the way that he was the most pretentious sort of faking homophobia guy which just confused me more. i was pretty harsh with this book but it really pissed me off
