This book was engaging, fast faced, and kept me on my toes. I loved the unique premise and the deep historic accuracy woven throughout the story. Perhaps one of the things I loved most about the book was the ability to read each character and thus see how each character perceived the others. All the women in the story felt undeniably real to me.
This book does not get a five star rating because there is a very small plot regarding birth control and women’s fertility which does not pay homage to the long tragic history of eugenics and violence against women of color in that area.
