cheezvshcrvst 's review for:
Mr. Midshipman Hornblower
by C.S. Forester
Reading this book will give you a real accurate idea of what folks that didn't value imagination did before they had access to television. That's not to say Hornblower isn't swashbuckling or interesting, but it certainly does lack for style and swagger. Forester has written something very readable and with a few decent anecdotes that remain relevant to this day. I will likely continue reading this series for tenacity of precise and deliberate technique to deliver consistent mini-adventures.
