What was THAT? How... I don’t even know how to word this. This knocked me off my proverbial ass.
All I know is… I started reading this when the sun was out and suddenly I glanced outside and it’s NIGHT. Hours have passed by and it feels like a blip.
I was so engrossed in this world and its characters I forgot about everything happening around me. The best way to describe it was it was ADDICTING to the point where I forgot I was even reading. Forgot all my other life responsibilities and just went and lost myself to this world.
Lyra is exactly the FMC I adore. Loyal, compassionate, witty, and courageous without sacrificing cunning. She is exactly what I love to see in stories and seeing her growth along the way is exactly what I want to see. Hades is obviously also amazing as well but too often do we see our FMC lose herself and her ideals in favor of propping up the romantic hero. Not hereee.
This is by far my favorite from Red Tower since Fourth Wing. Is it a literary masterpiece? No. But it doesn’t need to be. It’s FUN. It’s EMOTIONAL. It’s ENGAGING. It’s exactly the type of book to pull you out of a slump and remind you just how much a book can rock your world off its hinges.
THIS RIGHT HERE, RED TOWER. THIS. MORE OF THIS.
5 *solid* stars.
