A Place of Execution by Val McDermid

3.0

Read as part of the HARROGATE Crime Festival’s Big Read. Disappearance of a 13 year old girl from a tiny hamlet in Derbyshire. The prime suspect is the girls step-dad. She spends a lot of time on the personalities of the police and tensions. Book fast forwards to 1998 and a twist. Felt let down by the journey to the ending.
