The Shadow Wand by Laurie Forest

5.0

"And I realize, in that moment, that a heart is a thing not so easily destroyed by the shadows."

Ugh. This one was a tough read, simply because of the level of emotions that Elloren has to cope with, while still trying to train to be stronger, conquer her fears & fight Vogel.

I know what it's like, to want to mourn a loss, but being in a situation where you're not allowed to let your grief out. Our heroine Elloren is doing everything she can to hold herself together & keep going through the motions in order to survive & I believe Laurie Forest did a beautiful job of portraying that.

I also think Laurie was able to describe the sealing itself passionately, but tastefully. It's a thin line to tread, especially with it being a YA novel intended for younger audiences & it was really well done.

I enjoyed that this book included different perspectives so we could see what some of our allies are up to, scattered around the Eastern Realm as they are.

I *loved* the Death Fae. Very spooky. I was enthralled by them.

Another one in the series that I couldn't put down.

I do miss Diana, so I'm looking forward to the next book when perhaps they all come together again.
