The start of a new series for Brenda Novak that is off to a good start. She does the setting so that you feel as if you are there and makes you connect with the characters. She touches on some tough subjects that make you think as a good book should. Will be looking for the next book in the series. This book can be read as a stand alone but will want to see what happens with some of the secondary characters in the next books.
