I knew when I started I would be shocked because I have heard many amazing things and already having read the Poppy wars serie.
A quarter in I knew this was going to be a five star read (that was unless RF Kuang would mess it up but she is an amazing writer so I knew that was not going to happen)
Half way through I knew that the end would crush me not matter what way it would go.
The last 50 pages I did not want it to end but I also could not look away and stop reading.

In the end I cried and had a new favoriete book.

R.F. Kuang is such a talented writer that in time to come her work will be talked about in the future where English literature was for ever changed and that females off colour will become the leading voice.

You know as a white woman/person reading this book you're going to be confronted with uncomfortable things but if your not ready for that then don't read this book because you will hate it but if you're ready for that you will never look at the world the same way.

p.s. for this review I grabbed my computer because I knew that a review written on my phone would not do it justice
