Have you ever felt like a book just grabbed you and took you on the wildest ride and you just held on for dear life, enjoying every second of it? Well that’s what happened to me with SHADOW, the second book in The Heirs of Neverland duology by Kara Swanson. Of course, it’s complete fantasy, but it felt so much like reality. The story of someone pouring out themselves and giving everything to save a world that is crumbling apart while destroying them is unimaginable. Or is it? Both Claire and Peter face seemingly insurmountable odds to save Neverland, and the feeling of doom as they are confronted with an evil curse that threatens to consume them, that sinking feeling that comes from watching evil triumph over good again and again, seems and feels so real. My hat is off to this author for making me feel so deeply throughout both of these books! I think it’s safe to say that she has become an auto-read author for me.
