A fast paced sequel with plot twists galore. Had me saying “oh SHIT!” A few times. Looking forward to the next book.

While I was slightly annoyed by Kiva’s guilabiltiy, I can also understand how her life would have led her to this point. She was imprisoned from the age of 7, only having her father for family until he died. She’s trying to reconnect with a family who has grown up without her, so her being moldable to Zandeeka’s influence makes sense. As far as she knows, this is how her family is and she wants to reconnect and fit in. I love the found family dynamic though with the Royals. I was NOT expecting the plot twist at the end though. I figured her sister would do something, but WHOO BOY! Next book is ordered from my library!
