Family Family by Laurie Frankel
5.0

This was the perfect book to read over Spring Break! India Allwood finds herself in an unfortunate controversy after making some incendiary comments about a film she starred in, opening a whole can of worms about her own personal life. This is a book best not too spoiled, but adoption features very prominently in the story, as Laurie Frankel examines what makes a family family. Most of the characters are not to be forgotten, from India's lawyer mom, to her own kids, Fig and Jack, slightly precocious kids navigating their own lives. Hands down, this book had me laughing thoroughout, evidenced by the insane amount of highlighting of favorite parts I did. It's not just funny, but real, and poignant. Spending time with the Allwoods is certainly a wonderful experience.
