4.0

I really wish GR had a .5 star option because I can't choose btwn 4 and 5

SpoilerVery unique take on revolution (as shown in novels, I mean)

Some pacing issues that are making me hinge btwn four and five stars

Deaths were written very strangely (tying back to pacing issues)

Phenomenal writing, loved the use of footnotes

Unique and brilliant concept, bringing magic from the phrase “lost in translation,” allowing for really wonderful discussions on the beauty of language and the complexity of translation

Don’t even get me started on the commentary on colonization

Albeit quite telly rather than showy, I find that it works really well bc it’s just facts

I don’t understand why Letty is so controversial

Ramy was done fucking dirty and I will die on that hill

Might try to make a coherent review when I wake up tmrw
