Hale Maree by Misty Provencher

4.0

Move over Garrett and hello, Oscar!! Never did I think I could find a man named Oscar to be hot, sexy, and delicious but Misty Provencher proved me wrong!!

After an incident of which the reader (and Hale) are initially unaware, Hale and Oscar (swoon!) are forced together by their fathers. She is an 18 year-old with a drunk father and only wants to live her own life. He is a rich Playboy, or so we are led to believe. To begin their courtship, Oscar takes her to his father's beach house and from this point on, the story explodes.

The sexual tension in this book is HOT. I adore a story that isn't hitting me in the face with sex from page one and that's what is fabulous about Hale Maree. While you know and feel the attraction is there, Hale is trying to deny it in order to stay in control of her life. Oscar is doing all he can to come off as trustworthy and loyal. Somehow that combination leads to unbelievable chemistry that makes you want to scream at her to give in. I have to give Hale props because if I had Oscar pursuing me, well let's just say the book would be shorter!

The story itself is so much more than a romance. Yes, that is a huge part but there is also a lot of suspense added into the mix. As things become clearer, you feel those butterflies and wonder how things will end. Misty has created yet another work of art and I hope everyone who appreciates a well-written romance will grab a copy and devour it the way I did.
