A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab

5.0

2nd READ (JUNE 2022):

All I remembered from this book was just that I thought it was incredible. I have been reminded of why I love these characters and this story so much. The growing anticipation throughout the story was so infectious and I just could not put it down. This definitely did not feel like a 500 page book. I just love how unique the story and characters are, and I’m rooting for Holland!! I’m so excited to read the third book and finally finish the series (after a 5 year time lapse LOL)!

1st READ (OCT 2017):

It took me SO DAMN LONG to actually pick this book up because of procrastination (like 1 and a half years) and I don't know why I didn't pick it up sooner. It was sooooo good?!?!?

I forgot how much I loved these books and this world. V.E. Schwab is such a good writer and she paints everything so vividly and the characters and plots never let me down. I am always completely engrossed in everything that's happening in the story and I just couldn't put the book down; I finished it in 2 days because i just NEEDED TO KNOW what happened next.

My favorite part was definitely the end at the ball; when Lila finally got into London again I was so excited but it took SO DAMN LONG for her to go see Kell but like the way she did it makes up for it. It was SO GOOD and I just loved it so much.

This series is so underhyped in my opinion, people get the wrong impression of it (like I did, which is what stalled me reading the first one) and it should just be given a chance. It is so so so so amazing!!
