Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
4.0
Leigh Bardugo you never cease to entertain me with your writing and I rly enjoyed reading this.
Alex Stern is super badass and I love her and the side characters especially are super enjoyable like I am in desperate need of more side character content. Darlington, Dawes, Turner, and even North all of them played perfectly off Alex it was super fun to read their dynamics.
Not to mention the world building in this is super cool all the Old money Yale and secret society and magic stuff was never something I thought would be interesting but here I am.
The parts of this book where the world just takes over are pretty dope. I think my favorites are the party at Manuscript and when Alex goes to the borderlands the description and detail in some of these scenes are just super well done.
My only gripe was that it took a while to pick up the second half of the book was much more enjoyable than the first since it tends to drag a little but I’m hoping the sequel will be paced a little better and I will be reading that next because I need Darlington back immediately
Overall an interesting murder mystery filled with magic and intrigue and some great characters and I can’t wait to read Hell Bent :)
