Origin
by Dan Brown
Me and my other half always audiobook the dan brown novels when they come out its pure pulp, their fun and we enjoy to getting carried away in them with no brain space needing to be invited.
This though reached a new low- we had to DNF around the 40th odd chapter. The plot was awful and he took unnecessary time in letting events develop. Most of all, the inclusion of the modern art angle was so cringe we just couldn't. My partner is an artist, we both have art degrees but Browns application of explaining modern art which was just Wikipedia copying was embarrassing. He'd obviously done a tour in Spain....and was quite alright to just let that be it. naming and pointing things he'd seen. Yes, you might argue that as ”arty” people we aren't the audience but the audience whatever knowledge level does not need to be spoken to like children.
It's a big no.
