The Almond Tree by Michelle Cohen Corasanti

5.0

Wow. It's hard to believe this was Michelle Cohen Corasanti's debut novel. The amount of raw emotion it provokes is unbelievable. This book will shake you to your core and sincerely open your eyes as to what struggle truly is.

As a high school student, I have studied the Middle East and its conflicts in World History and even in my A.P. United States History courses. However, this book brought the emotional intensity to light and completed my understanding of the conditions of that area throughout the times.

The story of Ichmad is truly inspiring. Thought provoking. Riveting. The characters feel so real. At times you love them, you hate them. The way characters in a novel should be.

I can honestly say I will hold this book dear to me. I'm very glad and find myself very lucky to have won it from a giveaway.
