I just love absolutely everything that T Kingfisher writes and this book is no exception.
This is the perfect gothic horror in my opinion, you've got a creepy crumbling mansion, secrets, dying heiresses/ heirs and weird things going on with fungi and animals.
The elements of nature and the natural world being the cause of everything that was happening was my favourite part. I love books with naturalists and a focus on nature, which seems to be a common theme in Kingfisher's books. The descriptions of the fungi and hares was one of my favourite aspects and topped off with amazing characters, it just made it even better.
T Kingfisher has yet to miss with me. I just loved this book so much.
I've never read The Fall of The House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe, but this might just convince me to pick it up!
