Into the Jungle by Erica Ferencik

2.0

I read this on the basis of a NYT Book Review podcast about great summer beach reads. WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS!!! This was a total, insufferable disappointment. White woman (troubled, so I guess it’s more okay) goes into the Bolivian jungle with her native boyfriend, discovers she’s actually a shaman of some sort, learns all of the survivalist jungle tricks, and ends up saving the village from evil poachers. Huh??? This would be laughable if it wasn’t so pathetic. I’m amused that this is so highly rated on Goodreads. What a piece of... silliness.
