Collection of short stories and novella length pieces, The Live A Live story really worksbetter in the anime, because you get to actually see the band preform.

Spoiler

Favorite story is Charmed at First Sight because it is a Nagoto story, loved the resolution of why the boy fell in love with Yuki at first sight.

The final story The Melancholy of Asahina Mikuru ends on a dark note with further hints that there are indeed more dangerous enemies of the SOS.
