Disclaimer: Despite not giving this book a perfect rating, I am fully in support of Harry and Meghan and everything they are doing to both protect themselves and their children and expose problems with the monarchy and the British press.
This memoir is divided into three parts: Part 1 chronicles Harry's life from his mother's tragic death until he joins the armed forces, Part 2 mostly focuses on his military life, and Part 3 starts when he meets Meghan and takes us through to the Queen's death. The main reason that I didn't give this book a higher rating was Part 2 - it was incredibly boring to read, in my opinion. It took me forever to get through it. I just am personally not interested in reading about the intricacies of military training and life and skimmed some parts of it.
However, Part 1 gives you a good sense of how Diana's death deeply affected Harry for the rest of his life. For a time, he genuinely believed his mother wasn't really dead and had gone into hiding. A recurring theme throughout the book is how the paparazzi has also deeply affected Harry's life and his relationships outside the monarchy. The press relentlessly harassing Meghan and the crown's refusal to do absolutely anything about it was the reason for their departure.
Honestly, if you are interested in hearing Prince Harry's point of view in this situation, please read this. Just skip Part 2 unless you're into military stuff.
