You: The Story: A Writer's Guide to Craft Through Memory
by Ruta Sepetys
informative
inspiring
lighthearted
reflective
medium-paced
I wasn't so interested in this based on it's writing advice, I picked up this ALC from @Libro.fm because of the author, and my favorite parts of the book were the stories of her own life that she used to illustrate her pieces of advice. This book is part writing guide/exercises and part memoir in many ways. I think it could be used well in a high school writing classroom, and even certain sections could be pulled as excerpts easily. It is also just interesting from a story perspective, so those looking for more info about Ruta Sepytys herself should also pick this one up! A couple of the stories do talk about topics/themes that will be more applicable to older students, so 8th grade and up.
