Ronia, the Robber's Daughter by Astrid Lindgren

3.0

I was told to read this when someone was horrified I had never got around to it... so I've now rectified the problem. I have no doubt there are more such books ;)

It was well worth the time. I love the strong, distinct characters and the determination. Sure, some of the points are a bit formulaic and drew an "uh-huh" kind or reaction but everything built around it was so darn good that it really didn't matter.

I'd absolutely recommend it for reading with kids, adults whose inner child is still alive and well should appreciate it too!
