I really wanted to love this book. Shakespeare's Twelfth Night is high on my list of favorite comedies so when I heard about this book I was so excited! A modern Shakespeare adaptation with knock off dnd? Should he a great book! But - it was fine. Nothing groundbreaking or even exciting. The main character Vi was so frustrating. I could see where she was coming from but it really felt like she was so obsessed with being angry that she couldn't do anything else. Plus there were a few times where Vi was bashing Romeo and Juliet which rubbed me the wrong way. I know this is a me problem, but I hated it. Plus, this is literally a Shakespeare adaptation, so why are you making fun of a different play? It doesn't make you smarter. It was fine. I had some fun reading it but it really didn't live up to my expectations.
