This is the easiest 5 star rating I've made in a long time. This book kicked me into outer space. My gourd is in another galaxy. I bought it from the library and I'm immediately turning it in and going to go buy it and the next one so I can own them.
Favorite things: the incredible mix of lighthearted humor and gritty heartwrenching action, the relationship between the two leads, Gideon's whip-sharp narrative voice and internal tension, also Gideon's biceps, the queerness that colors everything in a way I couldn't have dared imagine I'd find in a book when I was young, the plot twists, the adrenaline running through me by the end... this book is a marvel!
