The Sun Also Rises: Penguin Classics Deluxe Edition
by Ernest Hemingway
The Sun Also Rises captures the aimlessness and disillusionment of the post-World War I “Lost Generation”, and the settings, from Paris to Pamplona, bring the story to life. The characters are emotionally detached so it was hard to warm to them. I read a comment online somewhere, which suggested that this book was “a bunch of posh, entitled people with trust funds who are permanently blotto”, and this pretty much sums it up!
