Ok. Overall this was just *okay* for me.

Listen. I loved the premise of this. I’m a huge fan of second chance romances! I’m also a slow burn girlie! But I really struggled with how the second chance romance was done. We alternate between timelines and while normally I’m fine with that, I found it really hard to follow. The slow burn also was kind of messy imo. One character goes on this massive journey throughout the book of discovering her feelings, and when they finally come out it felt rushed. Such a shame after alllllll that buildup.

Additionally, Millie kept dropping slurs at the beginning when she hadn’t realized she was Queer. This made me very uncomfy and I don’t feel like it was necessary. I get that Millie is a complex character and anyone who knows me knows I LOVE complex and “unlikeable” FMC’s, but Millie dropping slurs wasn’t necessary to her development as a character imo.
